After more than a century, Lutheran Homes of South Carolina’s ministry continues to evolve and set standards for a comprehensive continuum of care and services for older adults. As a not-for-profit ministry of the South Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Lutheran Homes of South Carolina currently owns and manages five continuing care retirement communities, a non-medical home service and a hospice program. United by a single mission, we strive to provide a community of caring where people know with assurance that we are dedicated to promoting the well-being of older adults by helping them achieve successful aging.
Choices for Living Well
In the heart of the Midlands, scenic Upstate and coastal Lowcountry, Lutheran Homes offers choices for living with a wellness-based lifestyle that emphasizes comfort and convenience. In our continuing care retirement communities, independent adults can choose to live in single-family patio homes, cottages and apartments with amenities for a chore-free and active lifestyle. When more help is needed, Assisted Living provides support with activities of daily living while encouraging independence. Memory Support Programs are more than secure, offering innovative care for people with Alzheimer’s disease and related memory concerns. Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers provide person-centered care to meet short-term recovery and long-term health needs.
Because we all may need a little help at home, our latest service addition, BeWell Home Services, is expanding outreach to offer a variety of choices for personal care and home maintenance services tailored to your lifestyle. Lutheran Hospice offers compassionate care to meet the end-of-life choices for patients and families in 11 counties. Across the state, home service and hospice programs are offered wherever a person chooses to live—be it on our campuses or in neighboring communities.
We recognize that the decision to choose one of our communities, home services or hospice programs is much more than merely selecting a place to live or people to provide care. You are choosing a way to live. Because of Lutheran Homes’ foundation of faith, the people who live and work within our ministry extend our mission to create personal relationships that help you truly feel at home and at ease in our presence. Whatever is needed, nearly 1,000 caring professionals embrace this tradition and offer person-centered care to more than 1,300 older adults and 3,900 family members each day.
As new friendships bloom into lifelong relationships, it’s easy to feel at home and become part of our Lutheran Homes family. With more than 100 years of experience, our reputation for quality precedes us. Embrace our rich history and Southern hospitality. It’s your choice. Choose to live better with Lutheran Homes of South Carolina … choose to live well.
