Older adults can be the most vulnerable to these crimes, and are often also the most fearful. This increased awareness of crime has been accompanied by an increase in companies selling home security products and services. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that half of these people are unaware that they have the disease, which can affect the eyes so slowly that a person doesn’t notice until they’ve suffered quite a bit of vision loss.
